1 – Does anyone out there need a Green Energy Neighbor?

The Green Energy Neighbors program connects homeowners considering efficiency and energy improvements with community members who have already made the improvements.
The network is free and open to anyone interested in reducing their home’s carbon footprint.
If you have questions about home efficiency, electrification, energy recovery ventilators, heat pumps, and renewable energy, Green Energy Neighbors can help.
Mentors in the network have completed projects such as energy audits, switched from gas to all electric appliances, installed solar panels and solar batteries, and more.
To connect as a Learner or a Mentor, click on this Mentors – Learners link and fill out the form.

2 – The state is selling surplus land. Officials will use the proceeds to acquire property that better fits outdoor recreation and conservation goals.
Nearly 100 parcels are going to auction in August, including river and lake frontage, and forested land. Officials say the parcels being sold have limited public benefits and are more suitable for private ownership.
Land in more than two dozen counties will be available, including Crawford, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Roscommon and Iosco.
More info on the Summer 2026 surplus land auction is online at Michigan.gov/LandForSale.

3 – Check out Climate.us for the memories.
After the Trump administration ended Climate.gov’s day-to-day operations in 2025, former members of the team built Climate.us.
The independent nonprofit says it has preserved stories, data tools, visual resources, and educational materials that help make climate science accessible to the public.
That’s Climate.us.
Organizers say the site will continue to expand its resources, work with scientific experts, develop accessible visuals and explainers, and help people turn climate knowledge into meaningful conversations and informed action.
